With a panel including directors in the commercial field and representatives from some of the leading production companies in London, the panel examines what it takes to get noticed when starting out and how best to propel you career from there on.
Radar Music Videos: How Do I Find Representation?
This session takes a look at how to progress your career as a music video director through getting representation via being signed to a production and/or distrbution company. With a focus on those involved in the distribution and exhibition of music videos, this seminar is an opportunity to hear from a panel formed of leading industry professionals including agents and production companies, plus you’ll also hear from directors who have recently been through the process of being “signed up”.

Lee Morgan and Ryan Ackland are life-long film fans and have been friends since their school years. While at University they began to make short films together, sometimes for Uni projects, sometimes just for fun. Living in London and with some good camera equipment they are now looking to progress their skills to the next level. Ryan is currently working as a cameraman/producer for a interactive TV show and Lee is an editor/cameraman at a production company.
“Having helped out in the 2009 RSSF we were more than happy to return and help out once more, this time filming some of the events. Everyone involved with the festival are always a pleasure to work with and it’s great fun, containing a huge selection of great shorts from the industry’s rising stars.
We are both currently writing and producing our first major short film which we will both film and direct and Ryan will also star in. We are always on the lookout for opportunities to expand and develop our skills as film makers.”
Chris Crockford is Head of Projection at The Hospital Club. A passionate film lover, filmmaker and editor. Having established his reputation for skilled projection in a number of leading private cinemas in London’s West End/ Soho. His settled at the Hospital overseeing the cinema’s technical needs from its opening 7 years ago to the present day.
